Sailmaker training

Sailmaker training
17 January 2023 by Mathis Bourgnon

A day of sail training with North Sails Switzerland and the Swiss Foiling Academy.

I loved it! Great day learning how to fix my potential screw ups if I damage my sails 🤨 I discovered sewing, now ready to fix my socks with holes.

This was just the basics, I’m bound to do more. It helps to understand a lot of things. A Dakar pilot knows his engine by heart, a sailor knows his sails by heart. Indispensable.
It would take months of training like this to begin to be satisfied with the understanding of the science of sails.

This is going to be one of the many areas I’ll have to train for the Mini.

Next step in this style: the CRR exam at the end of January, allowing me to communicate on the radio (VHF) offshore. Revisions in progress 🤓
