A proto for the Mini Transat 2025 😯
I am proud to announce my new project with a new boat: The Mini Transat with the Mini 6.50 number 934 Lilienthal
I acquired the 934 2 days after Christmas. I was really very wise in 2022 🎅
This boat built in 2017 was in the hands of Joerg Riechers then Morten Bogacki in the Offshore Germany Team and finally Frank Winter. Only Germans, I was able to recover a boat in very good condition 😉 Also, it has already 2 podiums in Mini Transat, a real rocket. Now, she will sail the ocean under Swiss flag 🇨🇭
In parallel, I continue to work with Forward WIP as Marketing Assistant. So time on the water will be counted and precious. For 2023, we are not closing the doors but it seems complicated.
I have already sailed offshore, but on a beach catamaran, there are no electronics, no pilot, no Rules, no competitors. In Mini I’m almost starting from the beginning. I’ll have to learn electronics, navigation by chart, how the pilot works, the GPS… I’m at the discovery level on a lot of elements so there’s a lot of work to do! The medium-term goal is to learn offshore cruising in an official circuit and prepare as well as possible to arrive as one of the favorites on the Mini Transat 2025 ✨
The short term goal is already to validate lots of boxes allowing me to participate in the first race of the year including: doing the survival course, passing the CRR exam, preparing the boat, checking the complete inventory, launching it, training… The list is long!
Compared to the sport catamaran or the ETF 26, we lose a hull and a lot of speed but we should gain in autonomy 😉
The boat will be based in La Trinité-sur-Mer 📍 Small return to the sources after growing up in kindergarten in La Trin’.
A project that promises to be full of adventures and rich in emotion!
