My Boat: Lilienthal 934

My Boat: Lilienthal 934
6 February 2023 by Mathis Bourgnon

I present you the prototype 934 Lilienthal.

The boat was in the hands of Germany Offshore Sailing for a long time. It was only owned by Germans. Might as well tell you that it has been well maintained 😁 It is now being registered in Switzerland (name change to come, notice to proposals). German naturalized Swiss… Not necessarily the most fun boat on the circuit😉 I’ll tell him jokes douuuceeemennnt.

He is only 6 years old. She is much younger than her skipper but much more experienced. 2 podium finishes in the 2017 and 2019 Mini Transat. A racing beast!

Named after Otto Lilienthal. A precursor of aviation the German.
The boat was designed to be on foils and fly on the water, hence this tribute. The project of foils having been quickly aborted to remain on an archimedean mode. A boat that is simple and efficient, known to be fast in strong winds but difficult to move forward in light winds. It’s up to me to discover all these little secrets 🔝
