Looking back on the Texel Race 🇳🇱
Great to be able to sail again on the biggest sport catamaran race in the world which took place on June 18.
The principle is simple: the first one to go around Texel Island (about 60km) won. With a zone in the north of the island with only 50cm of water, you have to play with the rudder and daggerboard heights! We tightened our butts up!😬
The results took a long time to come because we made a complaint against several boats for not respecting the course and the jury answered very late. We must not have been the only ones to claim because well half of the competitors (100 boats) seem to have forgotten a buoy 🙈 After the jury’s decision we are therefore ranked 2nd scratch, 2nd in NacraF20 (our category) and 20th in compensated out of 240 boats ⛵️
Not a perfect race for us but encouraging. It was a very good training for the 2022 world championships in September, we were able to test our sails in all wind conditions and by all points of sail which is a real chance.
