Setting up a Mini Transat project? Not only! Salaried at Forward WIP, mostly 🚀
And no, not possible to be h24 on the water, gee…. While you may have heard about my Mini Transat project, I would also like to share with you my work in marketing for Forward WIP, headquartered in Rolle, Switzerland, which is actually the vast majority of my life for 2 years now 🎂
You may see images of sailors on flying boats and kitefoilers with helmets and vests. Well they are very often WIP vests and helmets. Specialized and leader in the protection of people who go fast on the water. Good thing I like to go fast on the water 😁
My role on board the WIP boat: Communication, management of sponsored athletes, events, websites, social networks, after sales service, customization, budget tracking… Multitasks ♾️
But also more and more product development. The Mini project falls very well with WIP which turns to products intended for the use in Coastal Racing, business to follow.
Working in the field we are passionate about, it helps. We agreed with WIP an arrangement that allows me to reconcile the two with this year a working time of 80% (it says eighty percent).
I would like to be able to sail as much as my main competitors who train every week, especially since I have everything to learn. But you also have to be able to feed yourself. And for the moment, it is not my boat Lili that will feed me, on the contrary… Hence also the search for sponsors, she is expensive to maintain this Lili 🥵
On top of that, I’m in charge of communication for the M2 Speed Tour, a catamaran championship (the most pleasant catamaran in the world according to me) on Lake Geneva. As well as marketing for Forward Sailing, Nautisails, Ezywing and Spinnaker One.
I hope you can see that I am involved in many areas and that I like to balance my personal projects with my career, which sometimes merge and so much the better.
